Keeping female pups together??

Keeping female pups together??

Last week we got 2 female boxer pups (the last 2 from the litter). They are now 11 weeks old. At present, they are still together but they will be separated as one will be staying with us and the other will belong to my mother-in-law who lives across the field (approx 200 yards away). We live in the country and have plenty of room around us. Should we separate the pups as soon as possible? Training can be a bit of a struggle when together so I normally end up taking them separately, which seems to work well. When together, then tend at times to ignore us and just run off together to play etc. Thanks, Steven

I just wanted to let you know Chase passed away

I just wanted to let you know Chase passed away

I just wanted to stop by and let you all know my darling sweet boy Chase, passed away 4 weeks ago. He had a very sudden death. It was his heart. He went from playing with me to not looking so good, to death in less than 2 hrs. WE were at home and he started looking not so good,my daughter noticed it 1st. If you remember she is a vet tech. She got her stethoscope and his heart was beating very slow. His gums were white. WE rushed him to the emergency clinic 10 minutes away, there was nothing they could do. The ultra sound showed the left side of his heart 3/4 the size it should be and the muscle and hardened. His blood pressure was 30. He was dying. I was with him until he drew his last breath, and he knew i was with him the whole time. I had to make the decision to let him go, the dr. said he would either drown with the fluid on his lungs or have a fatal heart attack. I didnt want my baby to suffer at all. I stayed with him wondering when to let him go. He made the decision for me, he cried 2 times loud enough to hear him all over the clinic,he was looking me in the eye the whole time. I knew he was ready .I am not at peace with his death, I miss him so very much,he was my life. My heart and my soul.I kept telling him over and over how much I loved him and what a good boy he was for mommy. O god this still just kills me inside, I have to stop typing every few seconds to wipe the tears away. It is still almost impossible to believe he is really gone. I just wanted t let you all know he was gone, I feel it is what i needed to do for him.

Okay so my soon to be three year old Max had recently become a dirt roller and digger, I do not know what has started this new fun but I hate it. We make sure to watch him so if he goes to the spot he likes to dig we can quickly repremand him and that has worked, however he could care less if we yell while he is rolling he will just continue to do it. I am having to bathe him 3-4 times a week and its getting old fast. He only goes out to potty and he will go right there and just play in the dirt and sand, I am yelling and running out there to grab him and he will keep it up untill I get to him then sulk back to the house. I do not know how to stop this but am open to suggestions, I was thinking of just letting him potty on the lease instead of free roam of the yard, however we have only done that a few times and he refuses to poo if hes on the leash uhhh. Any idea???

Well I had my 15th birthday back in december and like I said a few weeks ago I had knee surgery. Bo was doing great for a while. We had finally got his recall back udercontrol and we were being persistent with it, but that quickly backfired and he is now back to square one, but were working on it. For instance last summer we ran him up and down then let him off leash in the front yard, but made him "work" for rewards and he did great. Here is a video and some pics http://s352.photobucket.com/albums/r352/bo...progress018.flv Back in december the day before Christmas me and my family piled into the car and went down to the lake with the pups. They had a great time. It's about a 2-3 mile walk through the woods on a trail up to a beautiful lake. At the time we couldn't let Abby off leash to swim because 1) It was too cold 2) because you could hear gun shots going off (people hunting) and she doesn't have the best recall when were around water Snow fell two weeks ago and they loved it. I enjoyed it to even though my crutches prevented me from having as much fun as I would have liked, but whatever. We got 4 inches down here in GA and that's a record. We haven;t had this much snow since the blizzard which occurred before I was born. http://s751.photobucket.com/albums/xx158/s...moresnow071.flv With Bo I think I will begin doing Disco dog with him. He loves his frisbee and catches it nearly 99.9% of the time (unless he's tired) But he loves it and has such a high drive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rNyX6yHXMk Here's a video of my sister and her friends playing soccer with Bo. Bo playing soccer pt 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfxUIHJVqjIBo playing soccer pt 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-hEA65fstwAbby is doing great. She is about 5 now and hopefully this summer when I have the ok to begin getting active again. I will be signing her up with the AKC canine partners program and compete with her in Agility. |
