Because my husband and I decided to get a puppy and didnt know what kind of dog we wanted and I loved the look of the boxer.

Anyway, there is a story about how boxers love children - and how they are known to do things like sit between a child and the fireplace to make sure that child doesnt get too close to the fire.

I thought that was awesome.

But now that I have boxers - I know better - it's true they love children but that dog was just trying to keep snuggy warm ROTFLMAO.gif

ROTFLMAO you're probably right - move over kid and let me get warm

What was the book Marty?
Jean
biggrin.gif I think we bought the same book

I recall reading that and other wonderful things just prior to us getting our first boxer. It was either in the book The Boxer by Anna Katherine Nicholas or it was in the Understanding Your Boxer Puppy book. I dunno, all I know is Miss Kailee hogs the fireplace

the book is called BOXERS by Beverly Pisano. (1990).. I still read it (or mostly look at the pictures) every now and then. Before I knew anything about the breed - I just thought they were so beautiful and regal.

Pretty sure Oobie ISN'T trying to protect me from the nasty, scary and horrificly 'warm' air that comes out our electric fan heater - she's just a heater hog and thats all I can say on that one !!!! It's nice to think the 'original' idea though smile.gif Sounds like a good read!
