Full Version: Petsmart visit

This weekend we took Chief and Sis and made a trip to Petsmart. Sis is always well behaved and politely sniffs people or other dogs and waits for their affection. Chief is more exciteable and has to be reminded of what manners he does have.

When it comes to people Chief and Sis are both polite and will sit and wait for affection. With small kids Chief will even lay down in front of them. With other dogs Sis will politely sniff and then she is on her way while Chief is ready to play.

As we are leaving the store a man is getting his dogs out of his truck. A Boxer and a Pointer jump out. As soon as Chief and the Boxer see one another they go into play stances and begin barking and pulling toward one another. John is trying to get Chief to go one way and the man is trying to get his dogs to go the other way. The Boxer and Pointer were getting tangled in the leashes while Chief is trying to go the opposite direction of John. As we get to the truck Chief kept looking back at the Boxer and whining. Luckily the two did not meet in Petsmart though. I would have a hefty bill to pay for damages if they had. ROTFLMAO.gif

By the way, the Boxer was a gorgeous petite male that was a flashy fawn with cropped ears. If it wasn't for Chief I would have loved to meet him.

It's amazing how boxers recognize boxers!

Our neighbors had family visiting over the holidays that brought their bunny. Sissy fell in love with the bunny and loved to run around with it. I'm still working on convincing John that we need a bunny. yes.gif

So....Sissy got a stuffed bunny and Chief got a Dino Cuz. They also got treats too. smile.gif

Chief got a Dino Cuz.

Beau got a dino cuz, too, and he LOVES it! He sings along while he squeaks it! He's so cute with it. Samantha got a good cuz, but Beau has taken it over, too, and sings along with that one!!
Oobie-mum
It is amazing how they do recognise thier own breed, but its just a pity they can't always meet or get along. Oobie met a girl on our holiday who is quite lovely around any other god or human BARR oobie. Granted Oobie was too happy and fun for the other to play with her (she seemed timid and backed away), but she followed us to our place and sat around with us for ages (Actually she sat ON us - typical boxer) we tried letting oobie out again (toilet) couldn't get the other one to leave, Oobie attempted play again and the other one got noisy (not good noisy) I grabbed Oobie and herder her back in and as soon as the other saw she was being 'restrained' she lunged at her to make her 'know' I guess that she didn't like her. I expected it and was prepared and nothing happened as I was between the two of them, but it was unfortunate that it has to be like that. The other really liked us and wanted to go everywhere we did (this is a place where dogs roam free and go where they please - except those with responsible owners) so we had to find her owner and ask for her to be kept inside when we went walking so there weren't any more problems.

Speaking of searching for certain toys...
Oobie met a 'duckie' toy along the way a few months ago -and now I'm hunting for one of those - I don't care what DF thinks, she will HAVE a ducky!! We have other duckie things here at home and she recongnises the colours and shape and loves them (we have a bath plug with a chain and a duck on the end of it) I have a body mitt that has duckies on every finger and a little beanie duck - none of which I've bought myself - I guess people assume I like duckies...wouldn't matter if I didn't - Oobie does!
