Full Version: I love boxer owners

Oobie-mum
Well quite obviously...as they must be such smart people to own the breed...but the reason for this post is....

Last night we went on a long and slow walk with the Oobs (she had been currently asleep in a sunbeam so she was heeling magnificently - very loose leash I might add...though not a brag...just an appreciation of her skill at that time whistling.gif )..

We headed into town, dropped a movie off and then went back the 'scenic' route along our seaport boardwalk as there is always other pups to look at, lots of people around and its a nice walk (especially past the restaraunts innocent.gif ).
We have also met about four other boxers along that way so you could say I had a 'mission' in mind in heading that way bigblink.gif

Halfway along the boardwalk (and yes my eyes are peeled for other boxers) I see a couple far off (they were kind of obscured by a tree but I looked around - and no boxer :bigsad: )...

BUT.... w00t.gif

As we neared closer - say about three metres.. the guy lets go of his pregnant wife and walks over and says ' can I have a look at your dog'?

and what do you think he did????

He got down on his knees face to face with her - kissed her - let her kiss him no end, then let her up for a 'hug' (put her paws around his kneck and kissed him to high heaven)...and he stayed there for ages bigblink.gif and went backfor more hugs another three times till his poor wife had to go because it was getting too cold for her .

You guessed it - he has three of his own, so we had a lovely chat with them (they are breeders also so that maybe an option for a brother for her in the future once I 'look' into them) - Oobie had lovely hugs with them and it was generally a great thing to meet other boxer owners...(which doesn't happen too often here - I did say I've met four boxers along the boardwalk - but thats over the 2 years we've had her :bigtears: ).

The strange thing about the meeting was - we were saying how many boxers we had met down there (and he said we'd missed one that lives basically on the board walk at the yacht club and have never seen him ask.gif ) - but we said that DF had first saw a boxer down at the fish and chip place and the beautiful face of that little flashy red girl was what made him want a boxer yes.gif ...talking it over..we realised - it was the guy we were talking to w00t.gif yes.gif w00t.gif

We went over the details (how long ago it was, where it was - how he was standing and what she looked like.. bannana.gif ) and we have agreed that is more than 99% possible that it was him standing there that day with his little girl.... wub.gif

I know tassie is a small place - but its smaller than I realised for that to happen....
Laura & Lily
Thats so cool! He sounds like a nice guy, and one that definately loves boxer kisses wub.gif I hope they turn out to be good breeders so Oobie can get a brother biggrin.gif

Good job lol

On the heeling - it was all due to her being sleepy, apparently she's been doing a bit of loose leash with DF - but not with me sad.gif and he didn't tell me about it !
He was a great guy - I warned him she would 'tongue' kiss him if he wasn't careful and he turned and said - I know I'm used to it !!
He cooed over her it was so funny (she was telling him stories apparently and he was having a full blown conversation with her)!!

AND I don't think he is particularly fond of brindles as he said 'oh, your sooo sweet and cute, your brindle, but your still so cute ' !! ?? !!
Laura & Lily
Huh weird, I love the brindles biggrin.gif Personal preference I suppose!

I bet Oobie was just lapping up all the attention biggrin.gif

Oobie looks sooo much like Lily in this picture

Who wouldnt want a kiss with that face! Even if it had some tongue lol kiss2.gif
Kato's Mom
How wonderful for Oobie to get so much attention cause we all know she doesn't get any at home! whistling.gif ROTFLMAO.gif I love Oobles. You always have such great pictures and stories to share. It would be awesome for Oobie to have a brother. Maybe you could name him Scoobie! ROTFLMAO.gif

ps don't tell anyone but I am partial to brindles too. Kato being my first boxer and brindle probably has alot to do with it.
Oobie-mum
Actually DF And I were talking a few months ago and I said if and when we get a bro for her what do you want to call him?
He said 'bob' and I laughed as we call anyone who we don't know or we can't remember thier name 'bob' and said are you serious and he said 'YEP'...

So if it does eventuate...we may have a Bob on our hands - hmm

But I was thinking the other day (yes it hurt whistling.gif ) that I'd like to keep doing with the theme of The Labyrinth (oobie is named after the Oubliette, the room that sarah falls in to), but so far all I came up with was Ludo - that big cute guy/monster with the underbite - could work innocent.gif
Laura & Lily
Ludo is a very cool name.. I like it!
Paisley&Matlock
Isn't it such a SMALL world!? Once you get to talking to someone, you find out that you either know them or know someone who knows them, or have some connection to them! That's how it ended up with Paisley and Matlock's breeder!! My mom used to go to school with them and play with them when they were all kids!! w00t.gif

We have the common saying - the six steps of separation - meaning every sixth person you meet you will know through someone else/they'll know someone you know, or you are related to them - in tassie I've changed it to the two steps of separation !! I just met someone who is working at the same school as DF - she is younger than I, she lived in the same town at the same time as I did (very VERY small town) our parents knew each other, she also worked at the same fast food chain as I, again for the same time - but just a few km's down the road...!!

When I taught last year - I had a teacher who was at my college, who lived with my mdt teacher, another who was best friends with my science teacher from high school, another who played tennis with DF - I had two cousins in the student body and the principal worked in the same very VERY small town that I used to live in.....

Tassie is WAY small - but if you run into boxer owners then I'm not going to complain !
