Hi All,

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I spotted a wonderful boxer that I was interested in adopting from the NJ Boxer Rescue. I spoke to the woman today and she was great! All the qualities in a boxer that we want - he has! We are meeting him on Saturday, after his trip to the vet. He is currently staying in a doggy daycare spa. How posh!!! w00t.gif

He's a 6 year old reverse brindle coach potato boy. smile.gif She said if things go well we can take him on Saturday.

This is our first dog & boxer. We are very excited but trying not to get too excited in case he doesn't mesh well with us. I am also a firm believer in, if it's meant to be, it will be.

Can anyone give me any advice as to how to make him feel welcome in my house? (provided things go well)

I am a bit nervous b/c I work in an office Tues & Thurs from 9-4. I hope the poor thing doesn't freak out when I leave for work on Tues!!!! But we will be home Sat - Mon.

I will keep you all posted as to how it all goes.

Thanks for reading!

PS ... The funniest thing is that his name; is the name of my client's biggest competitor! laugh.gif

P.S. I think it's great that you're looking for a rescue dog...there are so many pups that need homes.

Well done on considering a rescue dog, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a once homeless boxer, settling in and enjoying life again, wub.gif

When we brought Austin home it was like he'd been here forever. He wasn't the least bit scared or strange. Good luck! I hope you get your new baby!
