Full Version: Got my dogs back

I didnt realise with all the dramas and whatnot last year that I had lost my doggies cry.gif
They were still there , but couch potatoes, tubby and unfit ..... living in a small yard in a big city had taken the "doggie" out of them , and of course we were at work all the time so there wasnt much quality time with them.

Now we are back on a farm and I can see a HUGE difference ...... the weather has been horrible , pouring with rain , the sun coms out for two days and its too hot to live and down comes the rain ..... anyhow .....

I dont know if you recall Mikis love of muddy puddles ??? Well ... she has rediscovered the joy of "zooming " past a puddle in the pouring rain .... giving me a "go to blazes ma " look and jumping with all 4 paws into the puddle floppin into it and rolling around like a pig .

They now refuse to drink water from their bowl
:dunno: they both either drink puddle water or stand underneath the drainpipes to get fresh rainwater .. if it wasnt raining so hard I would have taken a photo of two dogs sitting blissfully under the gutter heads back mouths open drinking water ...... I have never seen anything like it .

They are both with me the entire day and dont leave my side , as a result their manners have improved , Miki's recall is 100% , monty .. well he is a boy and do they ever listen ??? he trys tho .. at least when I call him he looks at me , thats a start right

Funnily enough he knows by the tone of my voice when im serious then he comes as soon as I call him.

Because of the heat and then rain they dont go out much , but when they do ..... oh my , and in the evenings when its cooled down and not raining its into the van for drive and walkies.

My kitchen is covered in newspaper for muddy paws , now this is Magics area of joy , , last night she manged to spread my carefully laid out newspaper all down the passage .... and this is quite a large house.

Sounds like the wuppers are having a great ol' time in the new yard !! How fun that must be with all those puddles !!

Its funny that you say about them drinking the water from the down pipe - we had Oobie as the sister in laws house and she did the exact same thing, there was a small hole in the gutter and it was pouring - so it was gushing and she stood under it and gulped it in - splashing all over her head - the kids loved it so much that they had some too smile.gif

Am NOT envying the muddy paws in the kitchen - those you can keep wink.gif
